Help! What are the best crowd-pleasing dishes to win over a non-veg crowd at a potluck or dinner party? I'm often stumped by this one as my cooking skills are limited. I am looking for ideas that are relatively easy to make... but am also open to challenges! asked Nov 01 '10 at 12:39 alissa |
We have tried Veggie Burrito's (Vegan Cheese, Vegan Ground Round) and our infamous Vegan Thai Beef Salad. Thai Sauce Peanut Oil 0.75 Cup Example Entrees We typically cut the vegatables in small chucks and place them in individual bowls, then add the meat to its own individual bowl. Rice is prepared in advance and then we fill a smaller bowl with it and overturn it to make a little half sphere of rice on the plate. Allow everyone to make their own portions. It hasn't failed us yet. |
I typically find that anything that reminds them of their regular dishes works well. Imitation meats always impress them (if you use a good one). I would avoid salad since we already have the stereotype that "we can only eat salad". Other than that, I would like to hear other's suggestions on this too. answered Nov 01 '10 at 12:46 martin ♦ |
Vegan Mac and Cheese, preferably made with Daiya or Follow Your Heart, is always a winner. Sautee some garlic in a pan, add rice milk, Daiya and nutrional yeast. Melt it all down, spice it up and pour it over pasta! (Rice pasta is a better alternative to wheat pasta in my opinion) answered Nov 01 '10 at 21:28 Mike XVX |
