I have been a vegan for 5 months now, and the good news is that my weight level has reduced and my health has improved. Now for the next step. I want to get my body to a higher level of physical fitness so I can take part in more sports and outdoor activities.

I will be completing some basic weight training, swimming and light cardio to start. Does anyone have suggestions for dishes or eating habits I should develop during this process.

Workout schedule will be sporadic due to odd shifts.

Brendan Brazier, Douglas Graham, and Robert Cheeke all have great resources.
You can read these books for tons of information:
"Nutrition and Athletic Performance" by Dr. Douglas Graham
"Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness" by Robert Cheeke.

Also, www.30bananasaday.com is a website dedicated to optimal nutrition for athletic performance, be it weight lifting or endurance athletics.

Enjoy!
