It would be nice to have a list of non-vegetarian restaurants that are vegan friendly. Restaurants that know what vegan is or even better have items on their menu labelled as vegan. asked Oct 30 '10 at 22:01 martin ♦ |
Joyeaux Cafe is a little gem in the heart of the downtown core (Howe, north of Pender). Vietnamese delights! They even do Pho with veggie broth! They have about 6 or 7 veg options (easily made vegan if not already). My favourite is V5 - 2 basil & mango salad rolls, 2 spring rolls, 2 veggie skewers on vermicelli noodles + 2 dips on the plate (peanut & sweet/sour) and 3 sauces on the table (I love creating my own flavours!). All the veg options are under $10. Note - it's totally packed at lunch hours on weekdays - I wouldn't even try going then, honestly. answered Nov 21 '10 at 16:37 alissa 1
Ate here today on your recommendation! Got there at 11:30 and we got the last table available! Skewer and spring roll were good, but wasn't crazy about the mango/basil roll - no flavour. Next time I will try their veggie vermicelli soup - almost everyone was eating the soup so it must be good!

Recently tried Rasoree on Robson. They have only 5 selections for Vegan's but all the reps have a menu that lists, if the dish has Dairy, Gluten, Meat, Animal Products in Sauce. Pretty cool answered Nov 20 '10 at 11:50 Bkjamin |
I recently went to Cat's Social House (entrance to Granville Island) with my boss and his wife to watch a game, and because they are vegetarians and said there were a ton of veg*n options....and there are! Almost every meat dish can be substituted with tofu and they were incredibly accommodating when it came to adding things/removing things. They do a veggie burger and a beer for under $12 bucks on game nights, and it was one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had (and I've had a few). They also do house bottles of wine for $16, which is tough to find in ANY restaurant. Overall - very impressed. answered Jun 09 '11 at 09:23 KKnowles |
